NIOA and its associated clubs have been searching for a way to present a unified calendar of fixtures. No universally successful way has been found (the search continues). The most successful approach found to date is “oevents.info”. Here you can see a schedule of all fixtures in NI, level B fixtures in NI and beyond and level A fixtures across the UK. Unfortunately this list is not “mobile-friendly” and the fixture links are to the BOF website (whereas fixture information is usually on the host club’s website). It is, however, a sound source for the schedule as it is driven Read More …
Yes it’s a thing! Restarts Wednesday 9th January. Meeting Malone RFC, ready to run at 7pm. Bring a headtorch and some trail shoes. We can go do some exploring 🙂 Running Training is for All Levels. We jog together over to Orangefield Park. We warm up together, smile for the camera, complete the session at our own pace, jog home together, lots of stretching and all done by 8:15pm. Then a chance for a coffee or a cheeky schoolnight pint in the bar at the rugby club. See you there 🙂

In preparation for the LVO AGM could you please return any LVO trophies you have to Gordon Stephens, either at Sunday’s Score event or by arrangement with Gordon, who may be reached at gordon@lvo.org.uk. Thank-you and best wishes for regaining your trophies this year! (Apologies for reposting this – got the email link wrong 1st time.)
The Colour Standards table has been reset for the incoming year. It can be found at “Resources>LVO Public Folders>Colour Standards”. It shows the 2018 results contributing to your current standard and the colour event programme for 2019 at which you can try to climb the colour ladder. However, it shows much more than this because it contains a list of all (and more) members and their current membership status as follows: no highlight – rejoined for 2019. Well done, ready to go! red – 2018 member not yet rejoined. You’ll be losing your member discount on event entry fees, amongst Read More …
Happy New O-Year! The 2018 Roll of Honour is now available; go “Resources>LVO Public Folders>Roll of Honour”. It’s open for audit – please have a look and let me know of any errors and/or omissions – I’ll be happy to make the appropriate amendments. This is the only history of the club’s activities both in and out of the forest so please have look and make a NYResolution to increase the number of times you get a mention in the 2019 version; there are plenty of ways to do that!
Folks, Terribly sad news emerged on Thursday, of the passing of Pete Power. Together with his wife Moire O’Sullivan, and their wee boys Aran & Cahal, they have in recent years settled in Rostrevor and become an integral part of the vibrancy of our Tollymore Orienteers hub. I know you will join with me in expressing condolences to Moire, Aran, Cahal and Pete’s wider group of family & friends. Moire has made a very thoughtful request. She wants to capture and preserve everyone’s memories of Pete for their young boys. She has asked if you wish, to write the boys Read More …
Running training is ON! tonight 🙂Ready to depart Malone RFC at 7pm, and we’ll be back again by 8:15pm. We’ll be running hill reps, always at your own pace. You have the option of grass or hard surface – if you’re going the grassy way, it’s sloppy underfoot; wear grippy footwear. Santa hats 🎅 and reindeer antlers 🦌 actively encouraged 🙂
