LVO, including the Tollymore and Orchard County hubs, has a full programme of orienteering related activity planned from the end of the WEE series right through to mid-December. All the details will appear on the LVO site and on Facebook – all you have to do is keep Wednesdays (and the occasional Monday and Tuesday) free and come to enjoy an evening’s orienteering related exercise every week. All the best to LVO members amongst the 3,594 entries at the Scottish Six Days, starting today at Auchingarrich. Each day shall have live streaming and tracking from one or more courses. Today it’s the M55L/W55L. Our own Stephen Gilmore is scheduled to start at 13:42 on M55L and has been selected to be tracked – so pit your wits against Stephen’s route choice. The NISeries Tables have been updated following the Slieve Croob round and have been sent for publication on the NIOA web site but you can get an early peek here at “Resources>LVO Public Folders>NI Series”. With 4 events to count and 3 events remaining you need to take care which class you enter in the autumn to ensure that you are in contention come the end-of-year.
The colour standards table has been updated following the event on Slieve Croob last Saturday. It can be found at “Resources/LVO Public Folders/Colour Standards”. There are 2 reasons for having a look. The first is to confirm whether or not you achieved a standard on Saturday – the standard time shown in the results is not necessarily correct as the criteria used to calculate it is not that used for NI colour standard achievement (e.g. M & W are not treated seperately). Andrew Elwood (M18), Meadow McCauley (W16) and Daniel Earnshaw (M16) set off today to join the Irish Junior Orienteering Team. They are representing Ireland at the European Youth Orienteering Championships in Belarus. You can follow the championships here…and here’s the full squad.
