Planning this far out helps us to do a couple of things: 1) It means we can make sure our maps are updated in time, ready to go for the season when they’ll be used. 2) It gives our volunteers enough time to plan, organise and control the courses. 3) It allows us to see gaps in the terrain maps that we’d like to use, and look for access to new Read More …

LVO Relay Teams for Irish Championships

We have a cracking TEN teams for IOC 2024. Hosted by our friends in WEGO, and based around Lough Ree, the relays follow 3 days of individual competition. A wonderful test for tired legs (and tired brains), we certainly are one of the largest clubs and one of the loudest on the run-in for ALL our teams 🙂

LVO’s Newly Qualified Level 2 Orienteering Coaches!

At Saturday’s Hillsborough Club Meet, Ric, Áine and Alan passed their Level 2 BOF Coaching Qualification with flying colours 🥳 This would not have been possible without the generous support of the Orienteering Foundation, and the wisdom and patience of their instructor/mentor/problem-solver Helen Baxter. Thanks too to their assessors, Philip Baxter and Raymond Finlay from Fermanagh Orienteers.
