Organiser Chris Colwell is in search of volunteers during the SHI / NI long Champs on Saturday 3 October at Meelmore Mountain. If anyone is available to help out before or after their run it would be great if you could get in touch! He is looking in particular for car-parking marshalls, starts from 11.30-13.00 and an IT person on last shift (see image above).

After three glorious years, I’ve decided that it’s time to hand over the Chair role to another LVO member. I will step down at the next AGM, which will be held before 31 March 2027. I’m letting you know now so there is plenty of time to identify and welcome a new Chair and ensure a proper handover. We’re absolutely delighted to announce that James Ewart (M16), Ewan Ewart (M14) and Emily Kerr (W14) have been selected to represent Team Ireland at this year’s Junior Home Internationals (JHIs) in Scotland, 9–11 October. Congratulations too to Chloé Campbell (W14) and Jack Wilkins (M18), who have been named as non-travelling reserves. LVO events are run entirely by volunteers. And because we put on such an extensive programme of events, we need a large team of people to cover all the roles of planner, organiser and controller. For the past three years, I’ve sat down in September and started calling, emailing, WhatsApp-ing the nearly 60 individuals required to run the following year’s calendar.
