Success at this weekend’s JK!

What an amazing 4 days of racing over the Easter weekend at the Jan Kjellström International Festival of Orienteering in Perthshire, Scotland! 🏃‍♂️🌲⛰️ LVO members had an incredible experience – from great racing and hanging out, to tackling complicated forests and flying through the fast alleyways of Perth. We’re pleased to announce that the club has invested in a one-year Livelox trial subscription. Livelox and RouteGadget perform a similar core function—overlaying routes on a map so you can compare choices—but Livelox is a more modern, data-driven platform with greater automation and richer analysis. It is widely used at major international events such as OOCup and O-Ringen. Map Printing and SIEntries Closing Dates

For over 20 years, we have been extremely fortunate to have a club printer, expertly operated by Alan Gartside, producing all maps for our events. This has been a tremendous asset to the club. However, relying on a single printing arrangement has occasionally presented challenges. To ensure greater resilience and continuity for our events, we now need to introduce a reliable back-up plan. Other NIOA clubs, such as FERMO and NWOC, already use external printers (for example, BML) for their event maps. Contours, Cliffs & Confidence: A Day at Carlingford’s Foxes Rock with NIOA Juniors

Fantastic day of orienteering training at Foxes Rock, Carlingford with the NIOA juniors! 🧭 A big thank you to Three Rock Orienteering Club (3ROC) for the loan of their map. 14 juniors (and their parents) tackled the contours, cliffs and uncrossable marshes on some seriously challenging terrain 💪— brilliant preparation ahead of the Irish Orienteering Championships in May 🇮🇪🏆 Such an incredible group — many have been orienteering for less than a year and are already taking on TD4 controls.
