A new map and a new area to almost all. Enjoyed the Craigavon WEE? Or couldn’t make that event but heard how enjoyable it was? Well this will be right up your street ( sorry 🙂 ). Colour Standards Updated

Following Saturday’s final colour event of the year, at Tyrella, the colour standards have been updated and your entry showing under “2018 standard” will go into the historical record.  The final event of 2017, at Carnfunnock, could still contributing to your “current standard” as its within the one year window but it will be discarded at the turn of the year when the table is reset for 2019 so there may be some folk whose standard is yet to change for the worse – the bad news is that you can do nothing about that!

Results are up for Colour Series 6 – Tyrella

Results are now up on the LVO website for Colour Series 6 at Tyrella. Well done all, especially planner, organiser, other helpers and cake stall!

WENT 4 Change – Botanic and QUB on 21 Nov

The WENT schedule has changed: WENT 4 on 21 Nov will now use the Botanic Gardens and Queen’s campus map and WENT 5 on 28 Nov will be in Barnett Demesne BUT ONLY IF …. Someone volunteers to set out the controls and run the evening. The O’Boggle will be planned, control sites taped and maps printed in time to be picked up with the controls immediately after next week’s WENT at Queen’s. The Baxters won’t be available for WENT 5 so, if there is to be a WENT, we need a volunteer! Let me know (philip@niorienteering.org.uk) if you can take Read More …

After last week’s training in Ormeau Park WENT 3 this week will be in Musgrave Park. Meet in the main car park (entrance off the road to the hospital) at 7.00pm for a 7.30 mass start. We will have another go at playing O”Boggle so there will be something for everyone. As usual there is a 45 min time limit once we start so we should be finished by 9.00pm having collected in all the controls. The words are different this week so brains will be exercised! Note that there is a meeting at the bowling pavilion starting at about 7.00pm Read More …

Fixtures List for 2019

The more observant may have noticed fixtures for 2019 starting to appear on the BOF (British Orienteering Federation) and LVO websites.  At club level this is a work in progress but for all the major events dates and venues are all confirmed, so get those diaries out. We are still working on venues for club events, so if there’s somewhere you’d really like to get a run out on (or somewhere you want to avoid!!) drop a comment below. Also note at a club level the Spring Cup and Autumn Trophy are provisional dates that may change once venues are Read More …

WENT 2 Ormeau Park 7 Nov (Note: NOT MUSGRAVE PARK)

After last week’s epic tricks, WENT 2 moves to Ormeau Park this week for a new variation. Meet at the main Ormeau Park car park at 7.00 pm for a 7.30 pm mass start. As usual, the planner has come up with a new game to play called O’Boggle and there will be something for all standards.
