Hi everyone. We’re looking forward to seeing a good turnout at Meelmore tomorrow. Don’t forget we’re doing a kit check at the Start so make sure you have you waterproof, hat and whistle. The ground will be waterlogged and quite slippery so boots or shoes with good grip are recommended. There’s free parking and showers so I hope lots of you will use the lovely, warm café too.

Our third Score training session. We’re meeting in the main forest car park, £2 a map, register from 1:30pm ready for a 2:00pm start. Newcomers and beginners are very welcome, and coaches will be there to keep you right too. There is an area of the park that is Out Of Bounds. If you are seen in this area it is -150 points, we will have people checking. Another area has matting down for ground works please stay off this area, you can go round it. The venue for the Event Safety Course being run by Helen on Wed 17 Jan is confirmed as the Derriaghy Room in the Lisburn Leisure Complex. Start time is 7.00 pm
The map to be used in Sunday’s Score Training will be to the new map-drawing standard of ISOM2017, obtained by using the built-in conversion facilities of OCAD. Even the most eagle-eyed will have difficulty seeing any difference from previous maps (e.g. some slightly different symbol dimensions, some different vegetation screens) but if you spot anything untoward please let me know as I’m just at the start of the learning curve (there is an issue with some overlapping vegetation screens but it shouldn’t affect your route choice decisions).
