There are some bits and bobs left over from our move out of the equipment store at Kilwee. If you can use anything please contact me straight away – firstname.lastname@example.org or 07841 996 555 – otherwise the stuff goes to landfill. Some for collection at Kilwee, some from Ballyclare. This Saturday we’ll be sorting out and cleaning up our club equipment in preparation for a move to new premises. Our Kilwee store has been an ideal facility for many years but all good things come to an end and we are moving to a temporary store at Ballyclare – thank you Wilbert for the use of your shed – while we look for a permanent home. Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if you can only spare an hour or two, between 10.00 and 4.00. If you haven’t been there before you can find directions here, or give Read More …
There are a lot of you hungry orienteers looking forward to the barbecue at Saturday’s Tollymore Festival. Please let email@example.com know by Wednesday evening if you have any special dietary requirements and I’ll pass your request on to the caterer. Along with your special requirements, please also let me know what option you originally booked online (adult/child, meat/vegetarian). And remember, entries for the Colour Series event, Camping and Barbecue all close on Wednesday 23rd June 2021 at 20:00.
To help keep this year’s AGM as brief as possible, I won’t be going through the Club Accounts or the Treasurer’s Report in detail. If you would like to read the report, which includes the Balance Sheet and Income and Expenditure Account, you can find it online now. I’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have. Harry Bell, Treasurer
Just a quick reminder about Spring Cup 1 at Parkanaur Forest this coming Saturday. As always, go to the Fixtures page on the LVO website for full details. https://lvo.org.uk/allfixtures/lvo-spring-cup-20-2/
Our Club Score Champs are at Hillsborough Forest Park on Sunday 2nd February. If you’ve been coming to the great training sessions for the past few Sundays then you’ll be at a peak of physical and mental fitness for the 45 minute Score challenge. Or maybe you’re a newcomer or family and fancy exploring the forest park using a map – don’t let the word “Champs” put you off, the event is suitable for everyone, all are very welcome! Have a look at Fixtures on the LVO website for full information.
Just a reminder that LVO offers club members support for travelling to representative events and training camps. You can view the funding policies for Seniors and Juniors on the LVO website under Resources > Travel Funding. Thank you to everybody who has already submitted claims this year. Please note that Saturday 7th December is the cut-off date for final claims as I’m now starting to wind up the 2019 club accounts. I’ll be happy to help if you have any questions – you can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org Harry
Now that everybody’s dried out after the trip to Pomeroy Forest last Saturday we can start looking forward to a beautiful day out in Hillsborough Forest Park on Saturday 16th to admire the last of the autumn colour and enjoy the courses that Heather has planned for us. Hope to see you all there and, of course, beginners are especially welcome.
This is a bit of a last minute plea I’m afraid! Unfortunately we don’t have a Controller in place for Saturday’s Autumn Trophy event at Slieve Garron. Would anyone be willing to help out our gallant Planner Stephen Knight, even by looking over his courses early in the coming week and offering comment and advice? Please call me (Harry) on 07841 996 555 if you can help.
Hopefully everyone’s looking forward to a good gallop over the Mournes at this Saturday’s NI Colour Series event. If you can offer some help it would really be appreciated . Could you help wth meeting and greeting, or maybe registration? We need a couple of people for the start too. Or perhaps you would bring in a few controls? Even a short stint would be great, just to take some of the load off the other volunteers. The weather man is promising an improvement for Saturday. Still nippy though, so please do bring suitable clothing. Waterproof/windproof coats may be mandatory Read More …
