LVO Club Championship 2019

The LVO Club Championship will be run at the NI Colour Series 5 at Crossmurrin on Saturday 26th October 2019. Ward JHI Report

Over the weekend NI hosted the Ward Junior Home Internationals. You can read a report from Alan Elwood (Ireland boys’ Team Manager) here, see photos here and see results here. LVO was represented on the team by, M14 Oliver O’Kane M16 Daniel Earnshaw, M18 Andrew Elwood, Peter Reed W14 – W16 Meadow McCauley W18 Rachel Collins Meadow won the plate for best performance in the Irish Team. AUTUMN TROPHY 2 KILBRONEY 2nd Nov – CANCELLED

Regretfully due to planned forestry operations we have had to cancel the upcoming Autumn Trophy event at Kilbroney in Rostrevor. These operations mean that it is not possible to run any courses above an orange standard. This is very disappointing especially for Michael Burton who has already been hard at work planning the courses, but unfortunately it was unavoidable.  Plans are underway to try to re-schedule an Autumn Trophy event to another date and venue (probably Nov 30/Dec 1, as this is the only weekend with no NI orienteering before the end of the year). Yes you can! This Wednesday evening 2 October at our Sporteering session starting from Tim Hortons, Tim Horton’s, Connswater Retail Park, Belfast, BT5 5DL. Meeting at 7pm to go to the start. All you need to know is here. Please read carefully if you haven’t been to Sporteering before. (If you’ve been before and know the set up don’t forget your head torch and high viz. It’s getting dark!) And do have a think about which donut you prefer – one with a hole or a soft gooey centre!!

Sporteering 5 and WEE Prizegiving

Hello all you WEE competitors. I hope you’ve been taking advantage of the LVO autumn Wednesday evening programme. Next Wednesday September 18th is Sporteering 5, which is like a WEE event on the side streets around Connswater. It will be based around the Tim Hortons café there. Meet at 7pm for a jog out to the start. Sporteering – the next WOW

After 2 sessions of skills training in Barnett Demesne, next week sees the first WOW Sporteering. We’ll meet at Tim Hortons in Connswater and the WEE prize giving will follow. Details will appear shortly but plan to be there for an energetic evening, a warming cup of coffee and maybe a donut while the prize giving takes place. We are off to a good start!
