NWOC have reluctantly had to postpone the NI Score and Night Championships due to take place tomorrow, 8th February, due to the storm weather that is forecast and the possibility that the National Trust may close Mussenden Temple for safety. They hope to reschedule for Sat 22nd February and will confirm the change of date in the near future. Please pass this message on to anyone you know was planning to go.

Our Club Score Champs are at Hillsborough Forest Park on Sunday 2nd February. If you’ve been coming to the great training sessions for the past few Sundays then you’ll be at a peak of physical and mental fitness for the 45 minute Score challenge. Or maybe you’re a newcomer or family and fancy exploring the forest park using a map – don’t let the word “Champs” put you off, the event is suitable for everyone, all are very welcome! This Wednesday sees the return of Sporteering. We are hoping to run 4 or 5 more between now and the start of the WEE Series in May. LVO are hosting a club training day in Parkanaur Forest Park near Dungannon on Sunday 23rd February 2020 from 10.30am to 3.30pm. The aim is to get some training and have lots of fun. Training for every level will be available to all – no need to be a LVO member. Pre-registration is essential so that we can sort groups and print sufficient maps. Cost will be approx £5 for seniors, £3 for juniors. Closing date for registration is 19th February. In the Colour Standards folder (Resources>LVO Public Folders>Colour Standards) your 2019 colours have been transferred from the Colour Standards table to the Colour History table. The 2020 standards will start to appear whenever you achieve a standard time in a 2020 event and have 2 achievements in the preceding 12-month period. The colour events are listed in the Colour Standards table. The Colour Standards table has been partially updated to show the 2020 events at which colour standards can be achieved, so get your diaries out! The 2018 events have been dropped off the list so anyone whose 2019 colour depends on a result in that year will appear to be short of the required 3 counting events but, fear not, the records exist to prove your worth. The Female Sports Forum are running free Sport Leaders UK courses in February and March 2020. The Level 2 Qualification is open to any female age 15 years and over; who is actively involved in sport or sports coaching.It will run over 3 days; Saturday 8th February, Sunday 9th February and Saturday 29th February at Ulster University, Coleraine. The last WENT of 2019 will return to Lady Dixon Park on Wednesday 11th December. Santa, helped (?) by his elves, has planned a special year ending Christmas extravaganza suitable for all. As usual, meet at the upper car park of Dixon Park at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm mass start.
