Regretfully due to planned forestry operations we have had to cancel the upcoming Autumn Trophy event at Kilbroney in Rostrevor. These operations mean that it is not possible to run any courses above an orange standard. This is very disappointing especially for Michael Burton who has already been hard at work planning the courses, but unfortunately it was unavoidable.  Plans are underway to try to re-schedule an Autumn Trophy event to another date and venue (probably Nov 30/Dec 1, as this is the only weekend with no NI orienteering before the end of the year). Volunteers and ideas are most welcome, just get in touch with any committee member.

It should also be noted, that (probably due to the heavy volunteering commitment over recent months with WEE series, 77s and JHI/NIOC) this event had no organiser or controller in place, so was probably at risk anyway. A plea to all members, please don’t be afraid to step forward, it’s not as daunting as it seems and there’s always plenty of help and support available, as well as good crack (and possibly buns) on the day !!.

On similar vein should anyone fancy running a smaller activity/event on the parkland in Kilbroney on the 2nd Nov, please get in touch.
