IOC Relays at Parkanaur – 6th May – help needed!

FERMO are organising the Irish Orienteering Championships next weekend, but LVO are helping with the Relays at Parkanaur on Monday 6th May (https://ioc2019.com/relay/). A few people have already volunteered to help (or someone else has volunteered them), but we still need more for various roles, including: Marshalls – we’ll need at least 2-3 to man a few points on the course, including the gates on either side of the deer park. Map/Dibber Distribution – all maps and dibbers will be in numbered envelopes, so they just have to be handed to the runners with corresponding bibs as runners move into Read More …

Irish Champs Relays

Hi everyone, Olivia and I are pulling together the IOC relay teams. This is not easy with very complicated sums to be done for the Handicap classes. The good thing is, there are no Team Trials and you can take it as seriously, or not, as you wish. If you’d like a run, please let me (Susan) or Olivia know. Email or pm the Facebook page or post in the group or text or comment here. Go for it 🙂

Colour Standards Updated

The Colour Standards table has been updated following NISeries2 at Meelmore yesterday. NI Colour Series tables to follow.

Workshop on future direction of LVO

On Thursday April 25th we are going to have a workshop on the future direction of the club. Nathalie  Foehr, who is an expert in change management, has volunteered to help us with this. We are very happy that Mark McClure of SportNI has agreed to open the discussion. Following Mike’s introduction, we will start with your ideas on what are the ‘blockers’ – things that may get in the way of running a successful club in the future. Working in groups, we’ll then collect and prioritize the most promising opportunities to address these challenges. By the end of the Read More …

Looking forward to Meelmore this Saturday, 6th April!

Hopefully everyone’s looking forward to a good gallop over the Mournes at this Saturday’s NI Colour Series event. If you can offer some help it would really be appreciated . Could you help wth meeting and greeting, or maybe registration? We need a couple of people for the start too. Or perhaps you would bring in a few controls? Even a short stint would be great, just to take some of the load off the other volunteers. The weather man is promising an improvement for Saturday. Still nippy though, so please do bring suitable clothing. Waterproof/windproof coats may be mandatory Read More …
