Junior Scottish 6 Days and International Selection

A number of our juniors took part in the Scottish 6 Days near Inverness this year. They all did extremely well given the challenging levels of both the terrain and of the courses themselves, many of which ran on the same areas being used in the World Orienteering Championships underway at the same time. You can see all the results at the following link. We have also just found out that the following club juniors have been selected to race for Ireland at the forthcoming Junior Home Internationals at Magilligan in Oct this year. This is a fantastic achievement and represents lots Read More …

Lagganlia Success

Our two club junior athletes that took part in the BOF training camp for W/M14s at Lagganlia in late Jul had a fantastic time. The training was first class on some very technically challenging terrain. On top of that they did everything from swimming in the sea to obstacle courses, night escape and evasion, learning to remove ticks and of course cake eating. Well done to Andrew E and Rachel C.

LVO Club Orienteering Tops

Now is the time to start the process of ordering the next batch of LVO club orienteering tops. The cost will be of the order of £40 – a bit less if we get a large order together and for junior sizes. Actual costs will be confirmed once I know how many we are ordering. Sizing is important as the Trimtex tops can be a bit on the snug side. Please find a club member and try their top on to sort out what size you want (preferably before their run not after!). The order will go in at the Read More …

Lagganlia 2015

The BOF ‘Lagganlia’ training camp is based at the Lagganlia OEC near Aviemore. It is aimed at M/W14’s and takes place from 25 Jul to 1 Aug. There are usually about 24 places for athletes on the camp so competition to get a place can be tough. This year we are delighted that two of our junior stars Andrew E and Rachel C have obtained places. They travel by flight to Edinburgh and then by train to Aviemore on Sat 25 Jul to start their week. This will be great fun but hard work as well, with two training sessions Read More …

NI Series Tables after 4 events

The NISeries tables are available for viewing on the NIOA web site, under the “Results” link or alternatively are available here in the LVO archive.  LVO’s use of the Meelmore event for its club championship has meant that quite a few folk now appear in more than one class, so care is needed over the remaining events to ensure that you have the 4 events needed to count in the final analysis. As ever, only current NIOA members receive points for their efforts.  The non-members are listed in the hope that they will join up  – the incentive is that Read More …

Colour Standards List

The half-year colour standards listing can be viewed here     It shows your current standard i.e. your best 3 results (they are in capitals) in the 12 months up to the most recent event as well as your best standard achieved this year.  In brackets at the end of the row is the best standard that you’ve ever achieved. There are some highlighted names in the list.  These are folk who haven’t renewed their membership for 2015 (at least according to the latest membership list that I have).  It’s easier to keep them in until the end of the year and Read More …
