OCOUL / NIUL 2022

Good Luck to our JK gang

The JK is one of the biggest UK orienteering competitions, always held over the Easter weekend. 4 days of fun. This year it’s in South Wales and there’s a merry wee band heading over from LVO. Relays are on the Monday and we have 4 club teams entered, plus 2 orienteers perched on the reserve bench. On top of that, we have orienteers on Irish Junior Squad teams, and even more running on other club teams. Lots of cheering-on required!! Good luck to everyone running over the weekend 🙂 https://www.thejk.org.uk/

Tables Updated following Drum Manor and Divis

The NISeries, Colour Standards and hCOW tables have been updated following the last two events. Unfortunately there is a fault on the website whereby the “OneDrive Public” link requires a password to access the folders. If anyone wishes to peruse the tables in detail let me know and I’ll send them a copy. The NISeries tables are available on the NIOA website. In hCOW, where it’s place points that count, miserly Moire O’Sullivan is leading the way amongst those with 4 results to their name; in the 3 results group Aine McCann has a one-point lead over Ric Gamble. Until Read More …

The results from the first three colour events of the year have now been processed through the hCOW ringer and can be found at: “Resources>OneDrive Public>hCOW>hCOW2022” In addition to the event results an initial series table is included; it is in handicap order. 🎉Congratulations to Steph Pruzina, Mark Pruzina and Stephen Gilmore who have all been nominated for a British Orienteering Annual Award. 👏Mark has been nominated for the Development and Innovation award – this award is new this year and celebrates the efforts an individual, group or club has put into delivering a new programme or initiative which supports the growth of orienteering. Some of you may not know the work Mark and others do in the background with regard to setting up the on-line entries and payment systems which allows for the smooth running of events. He has also invented a clever radio control Read More …

Table Update post-Gosford

The Colour Standards table has been updated with the Gosford results. The criteria for determining colour standards varies from that used in the results publishing system so if you think you lost out have a look, you might be pleasantly surprised. The table also confirms your membership status; if you’re pink or yellow you are not currently a member so have not been assigned a colour standard or NISeries points. “Resources>OneDrive Public>Colour Standards” The NISeries table has gone for publication on the NIOA web site but you can find a copy here: “Resources>OneDrive Public>NI Series”
