Holding Ground

We are off again to Lisburn for WENT this week, meeting again at the Ground cafe at 7.15pm on Wed 7 Dec. This will be for a differnet MapRun using a differnet part of the city of Lisburn. All the details, including the course that you should upload to the MapRun6 or MapRunG are on the page for this activity on the LVO website. The weather is looking cool but dry, so come on down and stay after for a hot chocolate and a particularly good traybake. Sufficent maps are printed!

Time for O-Resolutions

The Colour History table, showing the achievement of colour standards over the last 32 years, has been updated for the 2022 results. The capital letters show an improvement over your previous standards so you can see your progression (or, in the case of old codgers like me, regression!). Now is the time for resolving to climb the colour ladder and to get to as many colour events as you can in 2023. Furthermore read Ric Gamble’s post about the event roster and resolve to take on some organising duties next year – not only do those who can’t run because Read More …

📣LVO 2023 Events Roster

The LVO Committee have been busy setting up an exciting calendar of events for the coming year. Below is the list of the events planned for 2023. Of course, none of it can happen without the support from you, LVO club members, cheerfully volunteering to fill the vital roles. 😊 A few positions have been filled already but as you can see there is still plenty of choice where you can put your name down. Have a look and plan in where you can help out – You can either insert your name on this file LVO 2023 fixtures and Read More …

Tables Updated for Year-End

The tables have been updated following the final colour event of the year, at Learmount, last Saturday. Go to “Resources>OneDrive Public>” then “Colour Standards>Colour Standards.pdf” to see how you finished the year. The “2022 best” column will be transferred to the history table, the out-of date (over 12 months) results will be removed and, at the turn of the year, the membership status will be updated. The 2-yr lapsed (yellow) will be removed, the 1-yr lapsed (pink) will turn yellow (unless you can persuade them to re-join!) and the unrenewed will turn pink. So get your membership renewal off to Read More …

🙏Please accept a few apologies and changes

🏆🍂Autumn Trophy Results – Sorry, the results I published in the last post were bit out on a few categories. I should have referred to Alan’s spreadsheet of results which is available for us all to see on LVO’s OneDrive – see here. I didn’t take into account the points that officials deservedly get for being amazing and putting on the events for us to enjoy. I also didn’t rank the men and women and juniors separately – probably because I love the way we compete across different ages and genders in colour courses. Anyway, as a result, Meadow McCauley Read More …
