Final hCALF Tables

The final tables are now available – go to the “STANDINGS” section of the website and click on “hCalf 2023”. No apologies for the delay; two weeks in West Cork beats an evening’s wrestling with a 129-column spreadshheet every time! Congratulations to Chris Colwell for topping the hCOW table (regularity). It was a close finish – if it had been best of 5 instead of 4 to count Olivia Baxter would have taken the metronomic crown. A look at the handicap table shows how Antrim favoured the higher handicappers while Barnett’s the lower – demonstration of how difficult it is Read More …

An August WEE Report

🦂 Those of us who managed to get to Barnet’s on Wednesday found out that the August WEE Series had a bit of a sting in its tail – which I felt in in my legs when hopping through some nettles and brambles. More complex and physical terrain made for some tricky but fun courses. But all worth when socialising afterwards sharing our experiences over a hotdog and a cuppa. 👍Thank you to the August Coordinator Dan Earnshaw and Chris Colwell with helping with access permissions all our August planners and volunteers, Alan Gartside for map printing and Geoffrey Collins Read More …

A WEE report for Antrim Castle Gardens

🌤A lovely late summer evening welcomed those who took part yesterday at Antrim. 🏃‍♀️Another good turn out, with new and returning newcomers, joining us for a fun evening exploring the park and the surrounding area. 🗺Lovely to plan and to run on the updated map (thanks Bill). Whilst mulling around having tea and buns, there were lots of compliments regarding the planning by Peter, another junior in the club who has got involved in this months Series. Unfortunately on the Long course, the leg planned to have the trickiest route choice (6-7) had a gate opened, so, for fairness, this Read More …

A WEE report on the Lady Dixon

🌤Another dry evening welcomed those who took part last week at Lady Dixon. 🏃‍♀️It was great to see a good turn out, with lots of newcomers joining us for a fun evening of running/walking the park. 🗺Lovely to plan and run on the updated map (thanks Stephen). Anastasiia’s courses received lots of compliments afterwards, with the long legs in particular causing good discussion about route choice. The fact that she brought us straight into the rose gardens had our heads spinning from the start. This was the second of four events in the (handicapped) August WEE series – so lets Read More …
