hCALF Tables Updated

TheUUJ results are in! A small turnout (presumably the Scottish6Days effect) means the statistics are a bit dodgy; in particular the event variance of +15secs for such a technically easy area (flat, open, with big buildings for guidance) is unexpected. Also unusual was the appearance of 7 first-timers; unfortunately for them UUJ sets their handicap which leaves only 3 events for scoring points and as it’s 4 to count it means they can’t win hCOW (points for regularity) and are unlikely to win Regatta (improvement) as they will have to carry a dns/dnf score into the final count. It’s reassuring Read More …

hCALF table updated after Belvoir

They can be found from the web-site by going “STANDINGS>hCalf”. An event variance of 2mins23secs shows how the climb from river level to the car park finish took its toll. With 3 scoring events gone (WEE1 was used to set initial handicaps) and 4 to go it means that WEE5 on 2nd August at UUJ should start to show who is in contention in both the hCOW (regularity) and Regatta (improvement) competitions. By the way, I’ve haven’t yet had any suggestions as to the title for which hCALF is the abbreviation.

🏆LVO Club Champions 2023🏆

The fantastic NI Colour Series event on Saturday 24 June at Meelmore hosted the annual LVO Club Championship event. All who attended will agree that the courses were certainly fit for a Championship – thank you to George Savell for planning such a challenge for us to enjoy/endure! It is sometimes a bit tricky to decide what colour course is best matched with each age/gender class. Some people bravely ran up a course meaning they were competing with people in a different age category. This means that some winners are being awarded a title for an age class which is Read More …
