  1. MESS I attended 3 – Donard, Tollymore, Kilbroney. Very good training and congrats to George. The tapes were rather hard to see. A couple of times I was standing right beside them but didn’t see them. Postitve and negative for that comment as it did require very accurate navigation!

UUJ. I wasn’t at. However I was asked to georef the map after the event. I also updated to new ISSprOM symbol set and mag north. Would have been better done before the event!

Lady Dixon. Good course and good map(!) which was resurveyed – not just updated! However a valid (and optimal) route was off the map in the NW corner!

Antrim. Good course. A real pity about the open gate as it was a nice tricky leg. Learning point when gates are critical in sprint/urban is to use strops to secure the gate as open or closed as appropriate. An incorrect control description on the butterfly control: It was “middle hedge hedge” but should have been “hedge hedge between”

Barnetts. A poor course with issues. Novice planners do need controlling! Two controls missplaced (107 and 115) and an important control description missed 111 was northmost knoll. Should have been northmost knoll NE side. Even standing on the knoll it could not be seen.107 was in nettles which was poor planning, but also newcommers need to be made aware of the full leg cover rule.

Refreshmets afterwards excellent addition to encourage social interaction.
