Best of luck to all our members travelling to Lough Ree this weekend for the Irish Orienteering Championships. At 42 participants, and fielding 10 relay teams, we have the largest representation out of all the clubs in Ireland 👌 We wish you much fun and success!

Table Updated with Drum Manor results

After a slight delay, the various performance tables have been updated with the Drum Manor results. The official NI Series tables can be downloaded from the NIOA website, but a copy can be viewed at “OneDrive Public>NI Series>NISeries20024.pdf”. The colour standards table can be viewed at “STANDINGS>Colour Standards>Colour Standards.pdf” As was warned after Drumkeeragh 4 events would drop out of the 12-month window before Drum Manor so quite a few folk have lost their current colour status. Five-year fixtures plan now in place!

Whilst normal orienteers would be resting up after their Drum Manor outing yesterday, LVO’s intrepid fixtures team spent their Sunday planning our event locations for the next FIVE years! Planning this far out helps us to do a couple of things: 1) It means we can make sure our maps are updated in time, ready to go for the season when they’ll be used. 2) It gives our volunteers enough time to plan, organise and control the courses. 3) It allows us to see gaps in the terrain maps that we’d like to use, and look for access to new Read More …

LVO Relay Teams for Irish Championships

We have a cracking TEN teams for IOC 2024. Hosted by our friends in WEGO, and based around Lough Ree, the relays follow 3 days of individual competition. A wonderful test for tired legs (and tired brains), we certainly are one of the largest clubs and one of the loudest on the run-in for ALL our teams 🙂
