hCOW Tables Updated

As we approach the conclusion of the event year the battles are coming down to fewer and fewer individuals. The Tyrella event results show a large variation in variance (that’s the difference between your handicap and your on-the-day speed). The event variance of 52secs shows that things were “quite” tough in the dunes and that the Green course competitors had the worst of it, with none managing to beat their handicap on the day. In the battle for consistency honours (hCOW Table) the champion for the last 2 years, Chris Colwell, has only Mark Pruzina as his final opposition, so Read More …

Table Updates after Tyrella

The NISeries tables have been updated with the results of the penultimate event. They are available from the NIOA website but you can find a copy on the LVO site at “Resources>OneDrive Public>[1[ League & series tables>NI Series>NiSeries2025.pdf”. It’s congratulations to Ric Gamble, Heather Cairns and Joanne Graham for joining Moire O’Sullivan by winning their classes with an event to spare. They’re joined by a NorthWestie and a FermOer in doing that with possibly more doing the same after Gortin; you’ll have to pull your socks up for next year! The Colour Standards have also been updated. The link is Read More …

hCOW Tables available

The hCOW tables, following the Autumn Trophy event at Donard Forest, are now published. You can find them at “STANDINGS>hCOW”. If, like me, that sends you into a password verification process, you can get at them via “Resources>OneDrive Public>[3] hCOW>hCOW2025”. As hCOW calculations are based of results from level5 courses it’s the results from the Short Blue and Short Green that were used. For Tyrella and Gortin (the final two colour events) it will be Brown to Short Blue that will count. There’s still all to play for – you can try either for consistency (hCOW) or for improvement (Regatta).
