Results are now posted. Great turnout and some exceedingly close finishes!

In the past couple of weeks I’ve made some changes to the LVO website. Hopefully they support a cleaner, clearer and simpler site. Now the first link on the home page is to the schedule of ALL BOF registered fixtures in NI (followed by links to fixtures further afield). The home page table of upcoming fixtures now includes a link to volunteer to help. The heading row of the LVO results table on the home page now includes a link to live results. Over the weekend NI hosted the Ward Junior Home Internationals. You can read a report from Alan Elwood (Ireland boys’ Team Manager) here, see photos here and see results here. LVO was represented on the team by, M14 Oliver O’Kane M16 Daniel Earnshaw, M18 Andrew Elwood, Peter Reed W14 – W16 Meadow McCauley W18 Rachel Collins Meadow won the plate for best performance in the Irish Team. Well done to all.

Thank you to everyone who helped out yesterday – members, friends, family and guests. Lots of positive feedback coming through. Hopefully you all enjoyed yourselves as much as the participants. Gordon Stephens From webmaster…a special mention must go to our very own Mark Stephens who won the NIMRA race – in a time under 4 hours!

All the best to LVO members amongst the 3,594 entries at the Scottish Six Days, starting today at Auchingarrich. Each day shall have live streaming and tracking from one or more courses. Today it’s the M55L/W55L. Our own Stephen Gilmore is scheduled to start at 13:42 on M55L and has been selected to be tracked – so pit your wits against Stephen’s route choice. Andrew Elwood (M18), Meadow McCauley (W16) and Daniel Earnshaw (M16) set off today to join the Irish Junior Orienteering Team. They are representing Ireland at the European Youth Orienteering Championships in Belarus. You can follow the championships here…and here’s the full squad.

Good evening, just a final call for the BBQ…Wednesday 19th June is the last date by which you can book tickets for the Saturday evening barbecue at the Tollymore Orienteering Festival. The booking link is via here, don’t go hungry! You can enter the weekend’s events from the same link (entry on the day also available for events but not for the BBQ).

Don’t forget to get your entries in for the Tollymore Festival of Orienteering this weekend – the official start of summer! Three days of orienteering + camping + BBQ. The weekend incorporates a colour series event on Saturday at the beautiful location of Slieve Croob. Information and entries here.
