The Bovine Returns

I don’t know if the MOO will be at this summers WEE series but at least hCOW will be in action, with handicap calculations being applied to the Long Course results. With the variability of the technical difficulty, from Hillsborough bomb craters to Antrim Castle parkland to UUJ urban terrain, your handicaps may show more fluctuation than those of the colour events but at least they will allow you to track the reasons for your good (and bad!) results and hopefully improve your performance. Until the August events appear in the fixture list the number of counting results can’t be Read More …

A WEE reminder

Tonight is the deadline to pre-enter for the first WEE of the season. It is at Hillsborough forest with starts from 6.30pm. A large group of Scandinavian O-tourists are testing it out on Tuesday for us. Both days results will be unavailable, so you can see how you fare against them. Don’t miss out EOD will not guarantee a map.

IOC Relay Teams

We are delighted to announce we have a mighty EIGHT relay teams for the Irish Championships this coming weekend in Killarney. Good luck to everyone travelling to the weekend. We cannot wait!! Results will be online http://www.orienteering.ie/results Susan & Olivia co-ordinate the relay teams, so you’ll need to come find them on the weekend to get bib numbers, check your team, and your running order. OCOUL / NIUL 2022

Good Luck to our JK gang

The JK is one of the biggest UK orienteering competitions, always held over the Easter weekend. 4 days of fun. This year it’s in South Wales and there’s a merry wee band heading over from LVO. Relays are on the Monday and we have 4 club teams entered, plus 2 orienteers perched on the reserve bench. On top of that, we have orienteers on Irish Junior Squad teams, and even more running on other club teams. Lots of cheering-on required!! Good luck to everyone running over the weekend 🙂 https://www.thejk.org.uk/

OCOUL goes Global

Tables Updated following Drum Manor and Divis

The NISeries, Colour Standards and hCOW tables have been updated following the last two events. Unfortunately there is a fault on the website whereby the “OneDrive Public” link requires a password to access the folders. If anyone wishes to peruse the tables in detail let me know and I’ll send them a copy. The NISeries tables are available on the NIOA website. In hCOW, where it’s place points that count, miserly Moire O’Sullivan is leading the way amongst those with 4 results to their name; in the 3 results group Aine McCann has a one-point lead over Ric Gamble.
