The NISeries and Colours of Spring tables are available in the NISeries folder in “Public Documents”; congratulations to those who have already won their Colours class (shown in red).  The Colour Standards table has been brought up-to-date in its folder; the red in it indicates those who, according to my latest copy of the membership list, have not renewed for 2017.

Spring Cup 1 Castleward

Join us for the first event of the Spring Cup this Sunday at Castleward Estate on the shores of Strangford Lough.  Use the main entrance road and park as directed.  There will be an additional cost of £4.50/person, unless you are a National Trust member – don’t forget your membership card.  This will be payable at registration  which opens at the later time of 1pm.  Last start time is 2.30pm and courses close at 4pm. Club funding for representative events.

This is just a reminder that LVO will help out with your costs if you travel to  a competition for which you have been selected to represent your club or country. The club’s funding policy for Seniors is here. The Junior funding policy is here and also under the Juniors menu. The policies contain details of how you can apply for funding. I will have a supply of LVO car windscreen badges at the AGM.  These are car tax disc sized so can be mounted either by using your now-redundant tax disc holder or by backing with a piece of Fablon-like plastic.

Scottish 6 Days 2017

I’ve been asked to alert members about next year’s Scottish 6 Days Orienteering Event. There is usually a substantial contingent from LVO at the event, which helps with travel and accommodation. NICS 2 – LVO – Woodburn Forest

LVO are hosting the second of this year’s Colour Series at Woodburn Forest, northwest of Carrickfergus. The assembly and car parking will be adjacent to Woodburn Presbyterian Church, 92 Woodburn Road, Carrickfergus, BT38 9AB. Follow the Woodburn Road from Carrickfergus or the Seskin Road from Straid. Registration is from 11.00. Start times are from 11.30 to 13.00 but remember the AGM starts at 2.30pm. Toilets will be available in the church hall. NICS 1 Saturday 25th February 2017   Venue: Castle Saunderson Demesne, Co Cavan   NIOS Sheet 27 GR H 417200 Castle Saunderson can be approached from Belturbet, Newtownbutler, Clones or Cavan town. It is a national Scout Centre and is signposted from major roads – entrance is off the main Clones to Butlers Bridge Road – N54.
