Club member James Ewart is running at EYOC i Czechia on 18-20 July and you can follow the action on YouTube Live. LVO Needs You – Be Part of the Mourne 7x7s Team!

On Saturday 9th August, Lagan Valley Orienteers is hosting The Original Mourne Seven Sevens Challenge Walk and Race – our biggest fundraiser of the year. As you may know, the Seven Sevens is no ordinary challenge – it’s an 18-mile trek across all seven Mourne peaks over 700 metres, with over 2,500 metres of climbing. Alongside the walkers, we team up with BARF to host the 7x7s Mountain Race, a highlight of the NI Mountain Running Championships. Thanks to Mark Pruzina for pointing out that the hCALF tables hadn’t been updated with the Belvoir results. Actually thay had – I had just fprgotten to upload them to the website. They’re there now; at least I know that one person is looking for them!

Final hCALF Tables

With WEE8 at Belvoir the final hCALF tables have been computed for this year. Planner Fred Hamond clearly made life difficult as no-one (that’s no-one!) beat their handicap, so the event variance was a massive 3mins7secs. Did everybody walk round the course? In the hCOW table, which gives low scores to the people who show handicap consistency, it’s Lyle Fleming who led the way with all his points scores being in single figures.
