LVO Annual General Meeting

The 2016 AGM will be held after the Woodburn event on Saturday 2nd April starting as close to 2pm as possible. Anyone wishing to raise an issue for inclusion on the agenda should contact the Chairman by Tuesday 22nd March. Nominations are also invited by the same date for the Steve McGibbon trophy which is awarded annually for services to the club.

Post NICS 2 Massage

Greg McCann is offering a post race massage using soap and ice on Saturday. Anyone interested just bring a towel and wear shorts.

Junior Fundraising

The NIOA Juniors are fundraising by selling tea/coffee/soup and buns at Silent Valley on Saturday. Can that parents of juniors please bring some buns/cakes for this event.

35th Annual General Meeting Notice, British Orienteering

The 35th Annual General Meeting of the British Orienteering Federation will be held on Friday 25th March 2016 at Leeds University Union, Lifton Place, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS2 9JZ, starting at 5.00pm in meeting room 6. This is during the JK weekend and will be held after the Sprint event. The proposals this year are for the adoption of accounts, appointment of auditors and Membership and Levy Fees. Armagh 5 Km Road Race

Two of our juniors, Rachel and Andrew, took on the Armagh city race on a cold Thur evening on the 18 Feb 16. It was a busy night with athletes from all over the country and indeed world taking part. Both our our athletes took on a hard and fast 3 km race around the Mall in Armagh city centre. Junior Training in a Wintery Wicklows

Junior training started on the weekend 13/14 Feb 16 with an Irish Squad training weekend. Rachel, Sophie and Andrew from LVO participated, with Steph, Alan and Alison providing coaching and feeding support (well mainly Steph and Alison for the food). The weekend started with a time trial run at Phoenix Park on Saturday morning. This is a difficult 1.4km loop taking in tricky contouring, short steep climbs and river crossings and all with fallen trees to negotiate and very thick mud making every climb difficult. Thanks to all those who put in orders yesterday at the club score coaching. I have enough to start sending off for new design O tops and almost enough for some old pattern tops, too. The ever popular WEE series kicks off again in May The first four events taking place in Ormeau, Musgrave, Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon and finally Stormont Estate.
