Training Wed 28th October – Barnett Demesne

The last of the October training series will take place on Wed evening in Barnett Demesne. Meet at Malone House for a 7.00pm start. This week we will be putting together some of the earlier techniques and adding a bit of competitive edge. We will be using SI kit, too, so there will be added fun for all. Next week we start with the WENT series, starting at Ormeau Park – meet by 7.20pm for a 7.30pm start. Details will follow.

Training Sun 1 Nov

There will be training available this Sun at Laganlands East (see the junior training section for the location details). We will meet at 1330 in the lay by 300 m from the entrance, opposite the boat club on the other side of the river. Alison Collins has planned this technical training day and we will be focusing on control description recognition and control site locations. Please email me (juniors at lvo.org.uk) by Fri to let me know you are coming so we can print enough maps.

Club Training Wed 21 Oct

Training for LVO and QUBOC club members (and visitors) will be at Barnett Demesne tonight, staring at 6.45pm, finishing by 8.00pm. Meet at the Malone House car park. Training will develop use of pacing and visualising control sites! There will be something for all standards. IntrO at Carnfunnock

The IntrO activity on Sunday will be a 4-control PreO course, counting towards the club’s PreO Championship.  Start and finish will  be at the SW corner of the car park, beside the FootO start.  There are a several things to note: The PreO course runs through the FootO terrain, so PreO must be undertaken after your FootO run (does this make it PostO?). The area used has not seen much management since the survey was done so use vegetation boundaries as locators at your peril! Club Training Wed 5 Oct

Twilight Training (warm up for WENT) will be held on Wednesdays throughout October alongside novice training for newcomers to QUBOC and UU. This week training will be at Barnett Demesne (Malone House car park) from 6.45 to 7.45pm. You will need a head torch for the later part of the session. Hopefully the QUBOC head torches will appear! N Ireland Road Relays: Victoria Park Belfast

Well done the the our juniors Andrew, Peter and Rachel who took part in the N Ireland road relays at Victoria Park. They ran a fast paced race at just over 1600m (roughly a mile) and did very well, finishing one behind the other in the order given above and not that far behind the winner. There were a number of adults from the club at the race as well so well done to those that took part.

Club Training – Wednesday 16th September – Barnetts Demesne

This Wednesday night’s training will look at pacing. There will be dibbers available to borrow if you don’t have one. This coaching is for all standards – Philip Baxter will be there to help adult novices and Greg McCann will be there for the more experienced. Start time is 7.00pm. Meet at Malone House car park. Non-members are more than welcome to come along. Prices Members: Free Non-members: £3.00 or for £5 you can join the club for the rest of the year. To assist in planning please register so we know how many to expect.
