Junior Training in a Wintery Wicklows

Junior training started on the weekend 13/14 Feb 16 with an Irish Squad training weekend. Rachel, Sophie and Andrew from LVO participated, with Steph, Alan and Alison providing coaching and feeding support (well mainly Steph and Alison for the food). The weekend started with a time trial run at Phoenix Park on Saturday morning. This is a difficult 1.4km loop taking in tricky contouring, short steep climbs and river crossings and all with fallen trees to negotiate and very thick mud making every climb difficult. C0ngrats to all who completed their runs in difficult conditions and very well done to Andrew Read More …

New Club Clothing

Thanks to all those who put in orders yesterday at the club score coaching. I have enough to start sending off for new design O tops and almost enough for some old pattern tops, too. A few members took order forms away to check – if you could get back to me by Wednesday then you can be included in the first order run – otherwise you’ll have to wait until the next 5 are ready! I will be at the training on Sunday for those that missed yesterday or who might still be making up their minds. Orders for Read More …

May WEE ask for volunteers

The ever popular WEE series kicks off again in May The first four events taking place in Ormeau, Musgrave, Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon and finally Stormont Estate. I am looking for planners and organizers to cover these. It would also be great to see some new faces take up these positions or someone who is willing to help another novice planner or organizer get started. In the great scheme of things that is only 8 people in total. I will help you get your volunteers to cover all the other positions, and be on hand with any advice you Read More …

WENT Finale Wed 16 Dec 15

The finale of the WENT series will be in Lady Dixon Park (top car park) on Wed 16th December. After 6 rain free (but not entirely dry) Wednesdays, we are all set for the 7th and final WENT for 2015. After last year’s debacle, Santa has briefed his elfs (elves?) very carefully: 15 controls, bonus points available, maybe some Christmas lights and certainly refreshment and prizes afterwards. Hopefully the elfs can be trusted to carry out instructions correctly this year as Santa may be too busy to supervise; whatever the result, a good time is guaranteed for all those that Read More …
