car badges at AGM
I will have a supply of LVO car windscreen badges at the AGM. These are car tax disc sized so can be mounted either by using your now-redundant tax disc holder or by backing with a piece of Fablon-like plastic.

Scottish 6 Days 2017
I’ve been asked to alert members about next year’s Scottish 6 Days Orienteering Event. There is usually a substantial contingent from LVO at the event, which helps with travel and accommodation. NICS 2 – LVO – Woodburn Forest
LVO are hosting the second of this year’s Colour Series at Woodburn Forest, northwest of Carrickfergus. The assembly and car parking will be adjacent to Woodburn Presbyterian Church, 92 Woodburn Road, Carrickfergus, BT38 9AB. Follow the Woodburn Road from Carrickfergus or the Seskin Road from Straid. Registration is from 11.00. Start times are from 11.30 to 13.00 but remember the AGM starts at 2.30pm. Toilets will be available in the church hall. NICS 1 Saturday 25th February 2017  Venue: Castle Saunderson Demesne, Co Cavan  NIOS Sheet 27 GR H 417200 Castle Saunderson can be approached from Belturbet, Newtownbutler, Clones or Cavan town. It is a national Scout Centre and is signposted from major roads – entrance is off the main Clones to Butlers Bridge Road – N54. LVO AGM at Woodburn
Annual General Meeting This year’s annual general meeting will be on 11th March at 2.30 pm, after the NI Colour Series 2 event in Woodburn. It will be held in Woodburn Presbyterian Church Hall, Woodburn, Carrickfergus adjacent to the car park where registration will take place. JROS Coaching Course
Keith Marsden of JROS (Joint Regional Orienteering Squads) has announced that JROS will be hosting a Coaching Course at Lagganlia Outdoor Education Centre, Aviemore, from 17th to 21st July. Attendees have to be aged 17 at the time of the course – but there is no upper age limit. JROS will be subsidising the cost of the course. Irish Junior Squad Time Trial
Attention junior athletes (M/W14+)! I have information from Mike Long (IOA Director of Junior Representative Orienteering) that the first mandatory selection event for the Irish Junior Team is a time trial in Phoenix Park on Saturday 11th March 2017. You can register your participation here (you do not need to be an existing Irish Squad member). You may get a flavour of the JHI selection criteria from those used in 2014 which are here.
