👏Well done all those who competed in the LVO Championship race at Portstewart today. 🌅Oh, I do like to be (back) beside the seaside on such great terrain. Like me, I am sure you loved running the excellent courses over the beautiful sand dunes – fun and frustration both served up with good measure. 🙌Thank you so much NWOC for hosting such a fantastic Colour Series event and allowing LVO to use it as their Champs. Below is the list of LVO winners, but it is all the NWOC volunteers who helped plan, control and organise the event who deserve Read More …

There are a number of LVO members who would like to and have entered a higher course than what their Age Class corresponds to. For example if you are an M55 and have decided not to run the Blue course but to ‘run up’ on the Brown course you are no longer eligible to compete at M55 and have to decide what age class you do want to compete in, will it be M21, M35, M40, M45, or M50 (seniors are not allowed to enter Junior classes). If you are choosing to ‘run up’ please can you email me at: Read More …

🙁 Well folks that’s it for the Wednesday Evening Events for this year (the control collectors will testify that it is getting a bit dark for evening events now – so on to other things). 🏁 But what a way to finish, in the physically and technically terrain of Belvoir Forest. 👏 Thank you all those who were involved in putting the event on, especially organiser Mark and first time planner Sophie. (I’m blaming her for the bramble scratches on my upper body, nothing to do with my questionable route choice). 🙌A big THANK YOU to all our amazing volunteers Read More …

The LVO club championship will be run on Saturday 4 September in conjunction with the NWOC colour series event at Portstewart. Colour courses have been allocated to each age class as per the list below.  As usual there is a course for everyone, there is no obligation to run in the champs and competitors are free to run the colour of their choice, however to be considered for the club championship you must pre-enter and run the course which corresponds to the age class you wish to compete in, or you may wish to run up a class/age group. Well done all who took part in the NI Sprint and Middle Distance races on Saturday. As always, a huge deal of effort and fun goes into putting events on, especially if there are two in one day in different locations. All involved in the volunteer teams did an amazing job! So although there is a list of winners below, the people we need to applaud most are the volunteer team who enable us to have fun competing. Special thanks to Sharon, Billy and Conor who organised and planned the Sprint at UU Jordanstown, Aileen, Wilbert and Richard who sorted Read More …

Today marks the end of National Volunteer Week 2021. To celebrate, we have Jenny Lau who recently planned for LVO for the first time, Jenny is going to tell us a bit more about that experience…. Hi Jenny, thanks for joining us! So tell us, how long have you been orienteering for and when did you join LVO? Hi Juls, thanks for having me. I found my first ever control point almost exactly four years ago from today. I was visiting a friend in Surrey, and while on a walk in the Surrey Hills, I came across the then mysterious, Read More …
