Whilst normal orienteers would be resting up after their Drum Manor outing yesterday, LVO’s intrepid fixtures team spent their Sunday planning our event locations for the next FIVE years! Planning this far out helps us to do a couple of things: 1) It means we can make sure our maps are updated in time, ready to go for the season when they’ll be used. 2) It gives our volunteers enough time to plan, organise and control the courses. 3) It allows us to see gaps in the terrain maps that we’d like to use, and look for access to new Read More …

Huge congratulations to our very own Paul Pruzina who finished top 10 in the M21 Elite British Orienteering Long Distance Championships in Whitby, North Yorkshire last weekend. An incredible and well deserved result! Full results can be found here: https://www.theboc.org.uk/page/551

At Saturday’s Hillsborough Club Meet, Ric, Áine and Alan passed their Level 2 BOF Coaching Qualification with flying colours 🥳 This would not have been possible without the generous support of the Orienteering Foundation, and the wisdom and patience of their instructor/mentor/problem-solver Helen Baxter. Thanks too to their assessors, Philip Baxter and Raymond Finlay from Fermanagh Orienteers.

We have a fantastic team of volunteers who work hard behind the scenes to make our orienteering events happen. It is important that we make it as easy as possible for them to carry out the tasks needed for events to take place. For this reason and for consistency, we’ve decided to streamline and clarify our event entry closing dates and entry on day policy.
