AUTUMN TROPHY 2 KILBRONEY 2nd Nov – CANCELLED

Regretfully due to planned forestry operations we have had to cancel the upcoming Autumn Trophy event at Kilbroney in Rostrevor. These operations mean that it is not possible to run any courses above an orange standard. This is very disappointing especially for Michael Burton who has already been hard at work planning the courses, but unfortunately it was unavoidable.  Plans are underway to try to re-schedule an Autumn Trophy event to another date and venue (probably Nov 30/Dec 1, as this is the only weekend with no NI orienteering before the end of the year). Just a quick reminder to all that the venues for WEE 5 & 7 have swapped. Stormont for No.5 on the 5th June and UUJ for No.7 on the 19th. The more observant will have noticed this change was put up on the BOF (and hence master calendar) and the WEE website some time ago, but I somehow missed the LVO web page fixture list. Spring Cup 3

SPRING CUP COMES TO CRAWFORDSBURN Looking forward to seeing a great turnout at this Saturday’s Spring Cup in Crawfordsburn.  The village is signposted from the Belfast – Bangor A2 road about 4 miles from Bangor.  Please follow the one-way system, past the Country Park Centre and downhill to the carpark nearest to the beach where you will find the MOO for registration.  The start will be a taped 10 minute walk from the parking.  There will be the usual 3 courses – Green, Orange and Yellow.  Runners on the Yellow course must use the bridges to cross the river. The more observant may have noticed fixtures for 2019 starting to appear on the BOF (British Orienteering Federation) and LVO websites.  At club level this is a work in progress but for all the major events dates and venues are all confirmed, so get those diaries out. Please note that the date of the next Colour Series event at Tyrella has had to be changed for reasons beyond our control. The new date is Saturday 17th November.   Please also note that as this event is accessed through MOD property you will need to register attendance in advance.  Full details will follow.
