Looking Ahead: LVO Chair Transition

After three glorious years, I’ve decided that it’s time to hand over the Chair role to another LVO member. I will step down at the next AGM, which will be held before 31 March 2027.

I’m letting you know now so there is plenty of time to identify and welcome a new Chair and ensure a proper handover.

Over the past three years, I’ve probably done more than is normally required of a Chair, largely to help establish and deliver LVO’s new strategy. The strategic pillars are now in place, so the incoming Chair can focus on the normal Chair role: providing overall leadership, ensuring the club has a clear strategy, is well governed and financially sound, and delivering an effective programme of activities and events for members and wider orienteering community.

The Chair works closely with the Club Secretary, Treasurer/Finance Team, Committee, event officials and other volunteers, while also representing LVO to external organisations and stakeholders.

If you might be interested in taking on the role, please speak to me or any other Committee member. We can then start the transition process and ensure there is plenty of time for a smooth handover.

Many thanks, Moire
