Although the soggy weather may have put a few people off, it would take more than a drop of rain to put off the 70 participants running yesterday evening.
So what about the courses? Big thanks to first time planner Steven Shortt for setting us the challenge – head spinning routes, criss-crossing the park. Thanks also to Philip Baxter for mentoring, with advice on the butterfly loops idea which helped split the runners up to prevent following.

People who are often overseen in the whole process, and I am guilty of not giving them a mention, are our very talented mappers. Without the amazingly accurate maps of our parks, streets, forests and hillsides we would not be able to enjoy our sport. So, thank you to LVO mappers Bill, Stephen, Graeme, Mark and George. ![]()

Provisional results can be found on the lvo website: https://lvo.org.uk/liveresults/
Next week we head to Campbell College grounds – this is a new area for probably nearly everyone, so long time orienteers won’t have as much of an advantage over newcomers as their won’t be any prior knowledge, so levelling the playing field
I expect it to be flat and fast again – but you will just have to get entered and find out!
