Everyone loves our Mobile Orienteering Office — or as we affectionately call it, the MOO. 🐮
It’s not just a vehicle; it’s a roving command centre for our events:
- IT folks love it because they can sit out of the cold and rain.
- First Aiders love it because everything they could need in an emergency is right there — no more “who forgot the plasters?” moments.
- And let’s be honest, it looks amazing parked up, with LVO proudly emblazoned on the side — a free advertising billboard wherever we go!
But here’s the hitch… the MOO is only useful if it can get to events. Out of our 200 members, only 7 people have a tow bar, a towing license, and are able and willing to tow it to and from our LVO store. That means sometimes, at some events, the MOO just doesn’t make it. 😢
So here’s the call out: we need volunteers!
If you have a tow bar, the right license, a vehicle that’s strong enough to tow, and a little time to spare, please contact Gordon (if you don’t have his contacts already, you can message him via our contact form). He’ll explain what’s involved and, trust us, will convince you how appreciated you’ll be by the whole club. 🙌
Helping with the MOO isn’t just a chore — it’s your chance to be a hero behind the scenes, keeping our events running smoothly and everyone happy.
Thank you in advance for stepping up — the MOO (and the club) can’t do it without you!
Worth noting that mileage costs are covered and at double the normal mileage rate to take into account the extra fuel used when towing.
