Great to see a coaching session focused on contour interpretation—it’s such a crucial skill for orienteering that often gets overlooked until you’re on the hill. I find that training the brain to recognise subtle elevation patterns is similar to learning to differentiate similar-looking Chinese characters, both rely on repeated exposure and fun, immersive practice. For anyone interested in that kind of pattern recognition and memory training in a completely different context, I’ve really enjoyed using interactive Mandarin learning games as a way to make character memorisation feel more like a sport than a chore. Good luck with the Meelmore session, wish I could join.
