With only one event to go (Todd’s Leap) winners and final battles are starting to appear all over the place (and one champion has emerged!).
The NISeries tables have gone for publication on the NIOA website but a copy can be found at “Resources>OneDrive Public>NISeries>NISeries2024.pdf”. Congratulations to Alan Elwood, Olivia Baxter, Helen Baxter, Paul Graham and Joanne Graham for joining the band of LVO class winners. That leaves just 3 classes still to be decided, with LVOers in the mix in two of them.
The Colour Standards table can be found at “STANDINGS>Colour Standards>Colour Standards.pdf”. With only one event dropping off the 1-year window there hasn’t been much in the way of change this time.
The hCOW tables can be reached via “STANDINGS>hCOW>hCOW2024>”. The event results table “Event7Glenariff.pdf” shows how difficult Glenariff proved to be, with no-one beating their handicap. That doesn’t mean that all handicaps get extended – the first half of the list will, in fact, see their handicaps reduced. The event standard is taken from the result in the middle. The hCOW Table is based on your ability to run to handicap; Chris Colwell’s hold is not yet secure – several folk could yet beat his score. The Handicap Table is there to let you reflect on your performances and try to figure out why you went wrong (or right!). The Regatta Table scoring is based on handicap improvement and, again, there’s all to play for at Todd’s Leap!
And finally to our Champion! The trailO results can be reached via “Resources>OneDrive Public>LVOTrailOC2024>”. The day’s results can be seen at “ResultsTempO-5.pdf”, the solutions map at “SolutionsTempO-5.pdf” and the final positions, over the year’s TempO challenges at “Standings.pdf”. Congratulations to Helen Baxter on becoming the LVO TrailO Champion for 2024! Note that she was error-free in her decision-making. She’s either very good at her control description interpretation or she’s got the same twisted mind as me!
