👨‍🏫Every day is a school day (well yesterday was anyway!)

All of us (60+ participants) who attended the Indoor-O at Ballyclare High School, were given a good test, courtesy of Stephen Gilmore’s masterly planning skills. Those of us with previous experience on this map, tried to use this to our advantage, but, with out of bounds and one way systems in place, it was a fresh challenge.

Fortunately most of us managed to finish the examination, those who passed the harder course with distinction were: Olivia Baxter and Daniel Vasey (1st and 2nd Seniors) and Anastasia Mahlych and Luke Gardiner (1st and 2nd Juniors). 👏

🤸‍♀️Lots of our juniors did really well on the shorter course, special mention to Cahal Power and Ruby Gardiner (1st and 2nd). Written on the reports of most adults was ‘could do better’, with only Anne Bell managing to finish.

Thanks again to the juniors who put on refreshments, which along with the banter, created a lovely club atmosphere after our run. ☕🧁

🍽The fun and catching up continued as we enjoyed our annual meal together before our second examination – the quiz/challenge. Bradley Walsh had a cameo role to play in the quiz but it was left to Ric to preside over the head scratching. 🤯

It was a great evening all round, and special thanks to Wilbert Hollinger who organised the access to the school and sorted the restaurant for our meal. 👏

Look forward to seeing a good crowd out next Sunday for our first Club Champs – entries for the score event at Belfast Castle close Friday 10 Feb at 7pm. Event info and entries found here!

  1. Thanks Ric for all your (and doubtless Sara’s too) hard work yesterday. An excellent evening! Bradley would have been proud of you!
