Marvellous fun on Meelmore

So it was my pleasure to team up with Richard Williamson (Controller) and Stephen Knight (Organiser) to plan Saturday’s courses on Meelmore. Do you know, I really enjoyed myself. It’s a cracking orienteering area.

We decided early on to use a small area – turns out this was a good call, as the Trassey River was fair bouncing along on the day, so at least no-one had an early bath. Well, okay, some of you might have – I hear some marshes were verging on the enthusiastic.

I can see lots of you have put your adventures onto Routegadget already, so I’m just about to take a wee look at those. Feel free to add yours by clicking on Routegadget at this link >>> https://lvo.org.uk/results-test/

Next week we have a treat at Gosford Forest Park, near Markethill. Pour yourself a glass of something tasty, and have a read of the pre-event information here >>> https://lvo.org.uk/allfixtures/ni-colour-series-1-3/ Pre-entries are open now 🙂 and organiser Kieran Rocks would like some help please on-the-day, no experience needed, he’s very nice really, email volunteer@lvo.org.uk

Back to Meelmore, and thank you to everyone for coming along to our event, it seems it was really well received. We had lots of extra helpers on the day and behind the scenes, I’m sure I’ll forget someone but thanks to Sharon, Mark, Gavin, Harry, Ric & Wilbert. Massive thanks to Alan Gartside for map printing to order. Minimal waste and #leavenotrace as always with orienteering.

See you next week.

Susan
