The hCOW results for Barnett’s are now available at “Resources>LVO Public Folders>Public>hCOW>hCOW2021”. No-one who ran at Ormeau managed a faster run at Barnett’s. The event variance of 2:23mins/km shows how much slower was the less manicured woodland and the additional climb. With 29 folk carrying over a result from Ormeau this means that, rather counter-intuitively, 14 of you saw a reduction in your handicap. Don’t forget hCOW is there to reward consistency, not speed.
Next week’s event, at Botanic Gardens, will be the first hCOW event to be based on a sprint map. For that the course length is measured along the straight line route, even if it goes through brick walls. So you’ll be going much farther than the course length suggests but to counter that you’ll be flying across the tarmac (won’t you?).
