Lagan Valley Orienteers regret to announce that due to the impact of Coronavirus we are not able to hold the Mourne Seven Sevens Challenge Walk this year. We have been working over the past few months to design measures that would address the additional safety and logistical challenges posed by Covid 19. We made some excellent progress and, having solved many of the issues, we were cautiously optimistic of going ahead. Unfortunately, however, some of the external factors out of our control such as access permissions and government Covid regulations have not progressed far enough at this stage for us to have any reasonable certainty of being able to hold the event on 8th August.
We did consider the possibility of moving the event to a later date but that proved to be very difficult logistically and the external factors may still not be resolved.
We are extremely disappointed at not being able put on this great, iconic event in summer 2020 but be assured we have every intention of being back in style in 2021.
In the meantime, we wish everyone a safe and healthy summer with lots of great socially distanced hikes in the hills.
