Happy World Orienteering Day

Yes 23rd May is World Orienteering Day.  So exciting!!  Check out the BBC showing us how to orienteer………..kinda…………not sure why there’s a child in a burrow but maybe someone can help me understand that!  https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/get-inspired/24066826

So how do you get involved?  Come along to any of our sessions.  No need to be a club member, just check out the details online, arrive and tell them you’re new, and we’ll help you get started (and finished if necessary).

World Orienteering Day kicks off with Stormont Estate this evening 6:30pm (details here).  Print out a parking permit (available from the link) if you want to park in the Estate for once – or park outside and walk in.

Since WOD runs for a week this year (!) you have more opportunities to take part.  Juniors training this Saturday 26th May at Portglenone (details here).  And what about a special Orchard County Orienteers session next Tuesday 29th May at Armagh Planetarium (details here).  A great chance to run on the Hill of Infinity (yes really!)

  1. Looks like the kid had to dig a hole with a spoon – sometimes orienteering can feel like that – but seriously it’s good to see the BBC supporting World Orienteering Day.
