Event Description

The next event in the NI Urban League brings you back to the Orchard County for a little dander around Craigavon South. There aren’t many canals around but there are several bridges and underpasses to give you plenty to ponder when choosing your routes, and you know me.

🏡Terrain: A mix of urban estates with many paths, retail areas, and open parkland.

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️Course lengths:

Provisional lengths subject to final checks, Long 8k, Medium 5.5k and Short 2.1k.These are optimal lengths, so the shortest distance if you choose all the correct route choices. The Short Course is designed with juniors (Under 16s) in mind – there are no road crossings. The Medium Course should only encounter light estate traffic. All under 16’s wishing to do the Medium or Open Course must be accompanied by an adult.

Parking and facilities:

🅿Parking – Parking will be at the Drumgor Youth Centre, Drumgor Heights, Craigavon, BT65 5BW.

🚻 Public toilets – there are NO public toilets at the Car Park. The nearest Public Toilets are located at Rushmere Shopping Centre.
🍴Other facilities – The Drumgor Centre incorporates a shop and Tavern should you wish to have a coffee or pint afterwards.

🐕‍🦺Dogs are allowed but must be on a lead.

✅Registration, Start, Finish and Download will all be situated adjacent to the car park.
Starts are from 2.00pm – 3.00pm. If you have entered online and have your own dibber, you may proceed directly to the start.
Courses will close at 4.30pm.

👋New to orienteering?

Don’t worry there will be someone at registration and the start to welcome you and answer any questions. Say hi to the person on registration where you will pick up a dibber/SI card (electronic timing device) then go to start where you will pick up a map and off you go!

You are free to go round the course on your own, as a pair or a group/family unit. For families or friends going round together, one entry = one map, so if you would like to go around as a family or group and share a map, just enter one person and that name will appear on the results! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Looking forward to seeing you there!
