Event Description
Join us for the 16th edition of this beloved 3-day event, celebrated as one of the most exciting orienteering festivals in Ireland. The Tollymore Festival of Orienteering is more than just a competition—it’s a chance to connect with fellow orienteering enthusiasts, share great stories, enjoy the craic, and, of course, take part in high-quality orienteering!
Whether you’re part of a club or new to the sport, everyone is welcome to join us. Newcomers, don’t hesitate to come along—even if you’re not a member yet! The Tollymore Festival is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the vibrant orienteering community of Northern Ireland, and we promise you’ll receive a warm welcome.
For 2025, we’ve planned an action-packed weekend of orienteering and activities, all set in the stunning Newcastle area, with camping and a BBQ at Tollymore Forest Park. While our base camp will be at Tollymore, expect to explore both familiar and new orienteering spots throughout the weekend.

Orienteering Events
All events can be entered via SIEntries (click on links below for full event details):
Day 1: Friday 20 June 2025 – Urban orienteering, Newry City.
Day 3: Sunday 22 June 2025 – LVO Club Score Championships, Tollymore Forest.
Camping
Camping is available at the Tollymore Forest ‘bottom’ camping field from Friday to Sunday, offering a great base for your weekend at a reduced cost of £8 per adult (Prices TBC). Children aged 16 and under camp for free when accompanied by an adult.

Tollymore Forest Park, accessed via Bryansford Road. Please note there is a one-way system in place; the exit is via Hilltown Road.

Toilet and shower facilities are conveniently located nearby. You can use the facilities at the Youth Camp site or the main campsite.
Barbeque
The Barbeque will be at 18:30 on Saturday. Please indicate on SI Entries your preference for meat or vegetarian. There will be paper plates but you may wish to bring your own cups, plates and cutlery to reduce the use of single use plastics and paper.
Barbeque costs £15 for adult and £7.50 for juniors of primary school age, 12 and under (Prices TBC).
Other Activities
As well as the orienteering, there will other activities available that you and the juniors can enjoy, such as boules (if you have a set of boules please bring them with you), badminton/volleyball, archery (with the plastic suckers not the pointy ends!) If you have any garden games please bring them along.
