Event Description

Venue and parking – Slemish College School, Larne Road, Ballymena

Registration and Starts

Registration will open in the school hall from 10.00am.

Starts are from 1030-1130. If possible, please book as early a start as possible, especially if doing courses 5, or 6. This is to help free up volunteers. It will also give you time to do the TrailO activity back at the School and/or attend the NIOA AGM.

There will be two Starts. Allow about 10 minutes from registration/car park to walk to each. Please stay on the footpath and take care when crossing side roads.

The Yellow Start will be for Courses 5 and 6 (Junior Courses) – turning left out of the School, follow the Yellow tape (approx. 500m) along Larne Road until a mini roundabout, turn left and the start will be 100m in front.

The Red Start will be for Courses 1,2,3 and 4 (Senior courses) – turning left out of the School, follow the red tape (approx. 700m) along Larne Road. The first start boxes (-4 and -3) will be in the park. When directed by the starting official, you will proceed to box -2, crossing the road and continuing a further 90n down the Larne Road. Please note, the park can be used as a warm up space, giving space to those in the starting grid and the starting official.

See diagrams below for start location and set up.

There will be six courses suitable for all age classes and abilities.

The four Senior courses will have road crossings, extreme care must be taken when crossing roads – give way to other pedestrians and all vehicles. For safety and insurance reasons U16s are not permitted to run courses with road crossings unattended. There are two separate courses designed for U16s, avoiding crossing roads and with appropriate safety measures in place.
