If possible\, please bo ok as early a start as possible\, especially if doing courses 5\, or 6. Th is is to help free up volunteers. It will also give you time to do the Tra ilO activity back at the School and/or attend the NIOA AGM.\n\nNEW INFORMA TION\n\nThere will be two Starts. Allow about 10 minutes from registration /car park to walk to each. Please stay on the footpath and take care when crossing side roads.\n\nThe Yellow Start will be for Courses 5 and 6 (Juni or Courses) - turning left out of the School\, follow the Yellow tape (app rox. 500m) along Larne Road until a mini roundabout\, turn left and the st art will be 100m in front.\n\nThe Red Start will be for Courses 1\,2\,3 an d 4 (Senior courses) - turning left out of the School\, follow the red tap e (approx. 700m) along Larne Road. The first start boxes (-4 and -3) will be in the park. When directed by the starting official\, you will proceed to box -2\, crossing the road and continuing a further 90n down the Larne Road. For safety and insurance reasons U16s are not permitt ed to run courses with road crossings unattended. There are two separate c ourses designed for U16s\, avoiding crossing roads and with appropriate sa fety measures in place.\n\nCourse 1: Open. (M18\, M20\, M21\, M35). Optima l route distance 3.8km.\n\nCourse 2: Male Vets and Female Open. (MV40\, M4 5\, M50\, W18\, W20\, W21\, W35). Optimal route distance 3.4km.\n\nCourse 3: Male Super Vets and Female Vets (M55\, M60\, W40\, W45\, W50). Optimal route distance 3km.\n\nCourse 4: Male Ultra Vets\, Female Super Vets and F emale Ultra Vets (M65+\, W55+). Optimal route distance 2.5km.\n\nCourse 5: Junior: (MW14\, MW16). Optimal route distance 2.5km.\n\nCourse 6: Minor: (MW8\,MW10\,MW12). Optimal route distance 1.4km.\n\nIf you wish to run com petitively you must:\n\n be a current member of a NI Orienteering club\,\ n run unaccompanied\n enter the course relating to your age class\n\nNot e: competitors can choose to 'run up' on a more challenging/longer course. If you choose to 'run down'\, on an easier/shorter course\, your run will not be classified as competitive)\n\nCourses will close at 1215 when cont rol collection will begin. If you are out after the course closing time\, please return to download immediately.\n\nFinish will be close to download - please make sure you report to download after your run.\n\nFacilities\n \nToilets and an indoor space to take shelter and have lunch will be locat ed in the school building.\n\n NIOA AGM\n\nThe NIOA Annual General Meeting will take place at 1230 at Slemish College.\n\nTrailO \n\nThis year we ar e reintroducing a TrailO competition and Slemish College will be the first venue within the series. This event is suitable for all abilities includi ng people with mobility issues\, it will be a wheelchair friendly course. It will take the form of a TempO cluster\, in which the competitor remains stationary and takes decisions (6 in total) on which of the 5 visible kit es (if any) matches the control circle and description on the map - all do ne against the clock\, You can organise to participate before or after you r sprint run.\n\nEntry is free and registration will be on the day.\n\nEve nt Entry and Cost\n\nSenior: Sprint Only £10 (Non-member £12).
