Venue 📍Slieve Foye Woods, Carlingford
Event Format Juniors and their families are invited to re-run the TD4 or TD5 courses that they completed at the NICS event the previous week or to try a different course.

Stakes and tape will be left out after the event (but no orienteering flags), so control sites are still marked albeit indistinctly.

Coaches will be available on the hillside to shadow or work with a group.

Entry/Registration This training is for juniors and their families only. To be added to the attendance list, please contact Steph Pruzina.

Start Times Arrive by 11am so that groups can be divided up. Training takes place until approximately 1.30pm.
Price 💰 Free for NIOA members.
Terrain Summary Slieve Foye is open mountain side with few paths, many rock features and intricate contour details.

Notes/Courses 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Tags will be left out for juniors of technical ability TD4 and TD5 (Light Green through to Brown).
Kit requirements Please bring your map from last week’s NICS. We will have spare maps also if you forget.

Bring a compass if you use and have one. Dibbers are not required.

🧥👖 Full body cover is mandatory –  waterproof coat with hood, waterproof trousers, hat, and gloves. As well as times of exercise there will be periods of coaching when you will be stationary, so layer up. Bring a bag to keep layers in if not needed, as there will be no drop-off point on the mountain.

A whistle is mandatory – emergency alert is 6 loud blasts per minute.

Parking 🚗 Slieve Foye Woods Carpark.
Toilets Nearest toilets are at the Quays shopping centre in Newry.
