Hillsborough Forest Park, Saturday 16th November.

Now that everybody’s dried out after the trip to Pomeroy Forest last Saturday we can start looking forward to a beautiful day out in Hillsborough Forest Park on Saturday 16th to admire the last of the autumn colour and enjoy the courses that Heather has planned for us. Hope to see you all there and, of course, beginners are especially welcome.

Slieve Garron Planning

This is a bit of a last minute plea I’m afraid! Unfortunately we don’t have a Controller in place for Saturday’s Autumn Trophy event at Slieve Garron. Would anyone be willing to help out our gallant Planner Stephen Knight, even by looking over his courses early in the coming week and offering comment and advice? Please call me (Harry) on 07841 996 555 if you can help.

Looking forward to Meelmore this Saturday, 6th April!

Hopefully everyone’s looking forward to a good gallop over the Mournes at this Saturday’s NI Colour Series event. If you can offer some help it would really be appreciated . Could you help wth meeting and greeting, or maybe registration? We need a couple of people for the start too. Or perhaps you would bring in a few controls? Even a short stint would be great, just to take some of the load off the other volunteers. The weather man is promising an improvement for Saturday. Still nippy though, so please do bring suitable clothing. Waterproof/windproof coats may be mandatory Read More …

NI Colour Series 2, Meelmore, 6th April 2019

Come and enjoy orienteering on the open mountain in the beautiful Mournes at Meelmore. Experienced competitors will enjoy the challenging courses that Mark Stephens has planned on this great orienteering terrain but there are courses too for all ages and abilities. Newcomers are especially welcome. Remember that this is open mountain so you must wear a suitable weatherproof coat if the conditions are poor. You can see full event details under ‘Events’ on the LVO website.

Travel Funding Claims

Just a reminder that anyone who hasn’t submitted claims yet for 2018 travel funding needs to do so straight away as this year’s sums are about to be done! You can check if you’re eligible for support from the club for travelling to representative events by looking at the Senior and Junior funding policies on the LVO website under Resources / Travel Funding. Email treasurer@lvo.org.uk if you’ve any questions.

Social Get Together at IOC

(I’m posting this fine suggestion from Ric, who says:) Hi LVOers. For all those going to the IOC next weekend I’m hoping we can maybe organise getting together socially. On the Saturday evening there is going to be a table quiz, raising some money for juniors and charity, so it would be good to have a few LVO teams. I’m also happy to organise a meal on the Sunday evening. With the guts of racing over it would be nice to get together for some good food and liquid refreshment as we talk tactics with our relay team mates and strategies Read More …

Ballymena Sprint results

This is because a different map was used.

Contactless payment at Urban Sprint event

You can pay your Ballymena Urban Sprint entry fee by contactless card. This is a trial run to see if contactless payment might speed up the entry process at the busy WEE events. So please pay by card or, better still, Apple Pay or Android/Google Pay on your phone. Of course you can still pay with proper cash if you wish!
