Do check out the dates and venues for the revised NI Sprint Series as these have changed somewhat from the initial list, with the first event this coming Saturday 13 May at Queen’s Elms Village Belfast.

WEE Series 2017

As I’m sure you are all aware, we are now only 1 week away from the start of May ( where has the year gone?! ) and consequently the start of this year’s WEE Series! This year some of you may notice a few changes to the WEE from previous years as I have been allowed to stir the pot a little: I have been granted permission to tinker at a few events… For the whole month of June, but starting in May at Craigavon, there will be an additional course for the more experienced to try their hand at. Spring Cup 3 – Hillsborough – Saturday 22nd April

We look forward to seeing you at the final Spring Cup competition of the year. Hillsborough Forest is a beautiful venue at this time of year and Heather has planned challenging courses for us, so don’t spend too much time admiring the view! As always, there are courses to suit everybody and beginners will be made very welcome. Perhaps this is the ideal time for you to try the great sport of orienteering? Registration is in the forest car park from 11:30. Please note that the courses close at 15:00 sharp.

2017 AGM

A draft of the Minutes of the 2017 AGM at Woodburn on 11th March 2017 is now available here. At the AGM, Chairman Wilbert Hollinger reported on some significant achievements during the year, whilst Harry Bell described the surprising amount of money it takes to keep LVO and its equipment functioning. The Steve McGibbon Trophy, named after a former Treasurer, honours the person or group who provided the most outstanding contribution to the club’s affairs in the previous year. The Colour Standards list has been updated with the Learmount Wood results and can be found in the “Colour Standards” folder at contact us>documents>Public documents.  As ever, red indicates non-membership – the records are being retained in case that “oversight” gets rectified.
