Orienteering at Edenvilla Park

Yes sadly the WEE series has finished for another year, but if you’re bored and missing your weekly fix of orienteering already we still have one more Tuesday event in Craigavon! There will be plenty on offer to cater for all standards from novice to regular with a maze for practice at thumbing the map, a normal course designed to give you a challenge, and a score event or two. If you are thinking of coming along all I would ask is that you get in touch or post a comment to say so, so that i know how many maps to print, Read More …

A WEE Thank-you!!!

And so this year’s summer season has come to an end. Fourteen events over four months with an extra one thrown-in during July and one cancelled at short notice in August, and Trevor Murphy went to them all!! There’s been a mixture of some good new areas as well as some firm old favorites. I’ll be the first to admit it’s been a messy series this year as we have tried various things in an effort to look to the future. Some good, some not-so, some have worked, some haven’t and I know not everybody has liked the changes, but they were all Read More …

2017 Club Survey

The LVO 2017 Survey had two goals.  Firstly to capture details of LVO and non-LVO,  including SI numbers, for our Autodownload archive and secondly to enlighten the Committee on the memberships views of the club. There were 59 respondents with 51 completing the survey.  Of the 51, 35 were LVO members.  Thank you to all who completed the survey. The winner of the incentive prize is Pete McClelland.  A pair of running socks is waiting for you at the final WEE! The raw results of the survey can be viewed here The committee will review the results in more detail Read More …

WEE Finale This Week – Be There

The Grand Finale of the 2017 WEE Series takes place this Wednesday at a new East Belfast venue for LVO. There will be courses, races, results, prizes and, we hope, hotdogs for all. The new venue is the Councillor Thomas Patton Memorial Park, with the usual offering of long and short courses. In addition there will be a special course for the under 16s who would normally run the long course. As the long course will venture into the adjacent Inverary estate, with a mix of park and urban orienteering, it will have to be restricted to the over 16s. Read More …
