We now have 18 LVO members entered for the Scottish Orienteering Champs for the club outing on Saturday 25 May. Entries close this Sunday 12 May so if you can join us just get you entry in! We have flexibility with 5 and 7 seater cars so we can fit you in to the car pool. Fancy a day trip to Scotland?

The Scottish Champs are withing striking distance of Cairnryan on Saturday 25 May. The details are Solway Orienteers website with a closing entry date of 12 May. If we can car share using the 24 Stena day return deal we should be able to get there and back for less than £50 each, including a contribution for petrol. We’re off Sporteering again on Wednesday! It’s a 60min urban score on a 1:5000 urban O map. You probably know that we have an AED – Automated External Defibrillator in the MOO. It hangs by the door with the First Aid kit. Get Ready for Sporteering

Sporteering is coming soon to Wednesday Evening Skills Training! You will need an Andriod or Iphone with GPS locating function. Since you will need to carry your phone, you might like to acquire an armband carrier. Make sure you can still touch the screen when the phone is in the carrier. With the August WEE Series fast approaching, we need a team of folks to run the goings on in the Mobile Orienteering Office for registration and results. Don’t miss your run in the snow tomorrow!

Running in the snow is great! I had a lovely run in dry snow on Barnett Demesne on Wednesday. With the event at Drum Manor being cancelled, is anyone up for a run out on Barnetts on Saturday? After a warm-up we will do a “Fartlek run”. It’s important that you have studs in your shoes and are clothed appropriately for the cold weather (ie base layer, jacket/cagoule, hat, gloves and full leg cover) and bring a snack and warm drink for afterwards.
