Best of luck to all those from LVO who are taking part today in the Junior Inter Regional Championships (JIRCS) today at Mallard’s Pike, courtesy of Bristol Orienteering Club. The JIRCs is an annual competition between the twelve UK Junior Regional Squads. Each region enters a team made up of up to 4 M/W14’s, 16’s and 18’s – a total of 24 athletes. Congratulations to all the Lagan Valley Orienteers who took part in the Mourne Mountain Marathon at the weekend, a fantastic excuse to spend a day or two navigating around the amazing Mourne Mountains! Registration is now open for our next Club Meet on Saturday 12 October at Queen’s Elms BT9, Belfast. This time it will be sprint coaching around university grounds, with a chance to catch up afterwards over packed lunch at the Tree House. All groups will be training on TD3 terrain, with the focus for experienced orienteers on making fast decisions.
