Final details are available on the LVO website for Autumn Trophy 2 at Slieve Garron. There have been some changes from the provisional details. There is an important note in the “fences” section for the green course. Final course lengths, climb and control numbers are up. Parking and social information has been added. Whatever Happened to “dib”?

Three to four years ago I built a couple of smartphone apps for orienteering. Since then I’ve gone quiet about them. What happened next? I had thought “not much” but it turns out something happened. First a bit of background. Background What’s dib? My apps “dib” and “dib HQ” were an experiment. The motivation was to reduce the cost of entry to orienteering for small clubs and schools and simplify the process for organisers. Five Days in the Lakes

Imagine the NI Colour Series wrapped into a single week but with 2,000-4,000 competitors and you get an idea of what it’s like to attend one of the big summer orienteering festivals in the UK. In odd numbered years Scotland hosts the “Scottish Six Days” and even numbered years alternate between Wales hosting “Creoso” and the Lake District hosting the “Lakes 5 Days”. LVO Championship + changes to event schedule, announced 13-Aug-2018

The following changes, announced 13-Aug-2018, have been made to event schedules. The forthcoming NIOA Colour Series at Garvagh on Sat 25th Aug will double as the LVO Club Championship (this replaces the tentative club championship date of 24th Nov). The Autumn Trophy at Rostrevor has been moved from Sat 8th to Sun 9th September.

WEE 10 Victoria Park, 1st August

From Dee Orwin, WEE 10 organiser…welcome back to the WEE series! WEE is back on 1st August at Victoria Park, Belfast. Registration from 18:30, starts from 18:45. Parking is in the park via the underpass. Come back out via the underpass for registration…give way to vehicles, children will need accompanied. Starts are near the bridge over the lake in the park. WEE Series Restarts on 1st August at Victoria Park

As ever, volunteers are requested to help out.  In particular the management of registration and downloads.
